Green People Scent Free Rejuvenating Eye Cream Review

Green People Scent Free Rejuvenating Eye Cream* - £9.50/10ml
I've never used an eye cream before and my first encounter has been with Green People's Rejuvenating Eye Cream*.  This organic cream is scent free and suitable for ultra-sensitive skin.  I'm very nearly in the middle of my twenties and lately I've been thinking about using skin care products with anti-ageing properties.  I've started to notice a few very fine lines around the eye area and it seemed best to tackle this first.

As always, Green People's products are full of natural goodness and this eye cream is certainly no different.  It boasts an impressive natural ingredient list.  There's jojoba and squalane to aid moisture retention.  Shea butter, avocado and evening primrose oils that enrich the skin with essential fatty acids; Omegas 3, 6 and 9.  Aloe vera, perilla oil and marshmallow extracts are calming and help combat redness and irritation - perfect for sensitive skin.  Finally, the combination of tara bush, seaweed and baicalin targets fine lines and wrinkles and promotes skin cell life.  That's a whole lot of plant power!

I apply the cream to the eye area at night, dabbing it on lightly.  You only need to use a teeny, tiny bit and I'm sure the tube is going to last me a good while.  Upon application my skin feels calm and soothed.  I have very sensitive eyes and it doesn't take much for my eyes to puff up and become sore.  With this cream, I've had no such problems.  It's perfect for those with sensitive skin who are prone to allergies and eczema.

I've been using the cream for just over two weeks now.  I would fully recommend it for anyone in their twenties.  (I'm going to be reviewing how the cream performs on more mature skin in a few weeks time, after enlisting the help of my Mum!)  I have seen an improvement in the appearance of my under eye area.  It looks plump, smooth and feels nourished and moisturised.  The very few fine lines I had are still there but maybe less pronounced due to the improved quality of the skin.

I believe no cream is ever going to perform miracles.  Laughter lines are a part of growing older and wiser and I'm prepared to fully embrace them.  However, I do think it's highly important to keep your skin looking healthy and full of moisture and Green People's Rejuvenating Eye Cream* certainly does a good job of fulfilling this brief!

Carboot Finds

This weekend, I attended my first two car boot sales of the year.  Mother Nature was thankfully on my side and the weather was perfect for a good rummage!  I managed to pick up some lovely bits and bobs.  Some of them are for me and the others will be making their way into my vintage shop, Isobelle's Pantry.

I set up Isobelle's Pantry in October last year.  I've always been passionate about vintage and it just seemed right to share this with like-minded people.  The shop allows me to source and share amazing items.  I love researching them when I home to find out all about their history.  For me the stories behind the items are what makes buying (and selling) vintage so special!

The floral prints, Pyrex dish and 1950s Woman magazines will all be making an appearance on Etsy very soon; after a good clean and a photo shoot!  I adore the magazines.  Both the adverts and editorials inside are fascinating and I'm in love with that puppy on the cover!

For myself, I bought that commemorative biscuit tin from M&S.  I tried my hardest to hunt one down last year but they'd sold out everywhere.  I'm really pleased I spied this one, it's going to look perfect in my bedroom.  I also came across this Topshop nail polish in Eyes Of Steel.  It's a gorgeous silvery-pinky-lilacy shade and looks amazing in the sunshine when it's on!

Overall, I'm very happy with this week's car boot bounty and can't wait for next weekend!

Have you found any bargains at car boots lately?

Top 5 Budget Beauty Buys

There are some amazing budget beauty steals available at the moment.  I've picked out my five favourite make-up items that can be bought for around £5 and under.  Until I planned this blog post, I really didn't  realise how many Rimmel products I owned.  They've launched some amazing items over the past few months and I'm keen to add the up-coming Kate Moss nail polishes to my ever growing Rimmel collection!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent - £3.99
Stay Matte has been featured on many a beauty blog and as a result there is a certain amount of hype surrounding this product.  I've been using this for a few months now and have been impressed with it's staying power.  On lighter coverage foundations, I find it mattifies the skin whilst still looking natural.  I use it sparingly on foundations with a heavier coverage as I find it cakes slightly.  Overall, for the price, it's a really great powder to have in your daily make-up collection.

Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner in Black - £5.29
I wear a cat flick on most days and liquid formulations are my liner of choice.  I really like the elongated felt tip nip of the Exaggerate eyeliner.  I can get a precise and even line with ease.  I know a lot of people prefer the Collection Fast Stroke, but I find that Rimmel's alternative provides a more opaque finish that lasts longer.

Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks in Pink Cloud - £1.99
I couldn't be without my trusty Natural Collection blusher.  Pink Cloud is the perfect shade for my skin tone and gives me a natural looking flush that lasts all day.  Their blushes are amazing value for money.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair - £4.19
Collections cult status concealer is on every beauty addicts radar, and for good reason.  The concealer is thick yet blendable, making it the perfect product for hiding any blemishes or redness.  I find that it's too heavy for the eye area but use this every day for any imperfections that I want to conceal.  I've been reluctant to repurchase MAC Pro Longwear Concealer after using this, as I find it does a similar job for a fraction of the price.

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107 - £5.49
I adore this lipstick.  The vibrant shade lasts on the lips for ages and despite being a matte formulation, it doesn't feel as drying as other matte lipsticks I've tried.  I'm keen to try out more of the shades in the range; the light pink 101 has caught my eye.

A Weekend Away

This weekend, I travelled to the other end of the country to spend the weekend with family in the town where I grew up.  I muddied my wellies, found bargains in charity shops and listened to stories about my Grandma's time in the Land Army.  It was so good to get away, to breathe Yorkshire air into my lungs and spend time with people who I really don't see often enough.  A happy weekend indeed!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

Not On The Highstreet

Not On The Highstreet is a fabulous online shopping destination for unique and personalised gifts.  I love spending the time to choose the perfect gift for someone.  With such a diverse range of products and sellers, Not On The Highstreet is the ideal site to find that something special.  I really like that there are more well known indie brands selling their wares alongside smaller crafters and businesses.  I was very kindly gifted a make-up bag* from Alphabet Bags, a bicycle print scarf* from Lisa Angel and dove hanging decoration* made by the fantastic Rachel Pettitt Designs by the lovely people at Not On The Highstreet.

What I love most about Not On The Highstreet is the option of personalising the items.  Rachel Pettitt's adorable shabby chic gifts can be tailored especially for the recipient (or yourself, if you're being naughty)!  I chose the lovely dove hanging decoration with a light, sage green wing and the words 'Sweet Dreams' dangling below him.  As soon I laid my eyes on him, I knew he would be perfect for hanging on my bed frame.  The option of personalisation really comes into it's own when you're browsing for wedding or new baby gifts.  After seeing my dove and the other customisable gifts available, my Mum has been trawling the site for a new baby present.  Safe to say that she's still undecided because there are so many wonderful items to choose from!

It wasn't only my little dove who jumped out at me, but the bicycle print scarf too.  The bold, quirky print drew me to it straight away.  A lightweight scarf is the perfect accessory for spring and I know I'm going to be wearing this constantly over the coming months.

I'd been intrigued by Alphabet Bags' selection of totes and make-up bags as I'd seen a few popping up on different blogs.  I absolutely love that my new make-up bag compliments me every morning!  I adore the simplicity of Alphabet Bags' designs and certainly indulged my inner typography geek as I browsed their products.  The make-up bag is such a great size too.  It's deceptively big and houses all of my everyday cosmetic essentials with room to spare.  The perfect excuse to go beauty shopping!

I have to give a mention to the pretty packaging these products came in.  It was enough to make me swoon even before I'd opened the parcels!  Cute envelopes and adorable stickers may not get everybody as excited as they make me, but how can you fail to be happy when the post man hands you a jiffy bag adorned with a cute sticker saying "hello"?! (Just me? never mind..)  All the items came quickly too, although expect items that are customised to take a little longer.

Have you shopped at Not On The Highstreet before?
